Dry, sweet, sparkling and even frozé, there’s a rosé for everyone.
A few fun facts about rosé:
– Ranging from pale blush to deep pink, rosé’s color comes from juice contact with red grape skins. The longer the juice soaks with the skins, the darker the color.
– Rosé wine can be made from a variety of red grapes from all over the globe. The location of where the wine was produced will help determine which varietal is used.
– Your favorite porch pounder hasn’t always been a summer go-to, but it’s certainly making a comeback. Once determined undrinkable by sommeliers and wine snobs alike, rosé has come a long way from the sticky-sweet White Zinfandels of the 70s.
Thanks to innovative winemakers that continue to push the status quo, there are a multitude of great rosés out there, waiting for you. Coming out of Walla Walla, @smak_wines is a woman-owned winery that produces exclusively rosé. Now that’s celebrating rosé!
